We recognize the Indigenous history of our region and the ground on which Beach Street Repertory Theatre stands. We acknowledge the Timucua and Mayaca people, who owned and cared for this land until settlers drove them out.

Arts institutions have historically marginalized the voices and appropriated the ancestral lands, possessions, and stories of Indigenous peoples—and continue to neglect their diverse and vibrant contemporary cultures today. We hold ourselves accountable to the above history of theft and violence by building equity, representation, and connection to the many sovereign Indigenous nations, and their artists, students, audience members, and leaders in our community today. We ask you who join us here to do the same.
